First things first, you will need to collect some packing materials. This includes cardboard boxes, bubble wrap, newspaper/tissue paper for wrapping breakable items as well as packing tape and marker pens. Using high quality materials will ensure that your items are well protected during transit to your self storage unit.

For extra security use sturdy double-walled cardboard boxes which can hold heavier items and provide added protection in the event of any bumps or drops. Be mindful that if you are storing antiques or other fragile items these should be packed separately in layers of bubble wrap to keep them safe and secure on the journey. For heavier items such as books we recommend that you closely stack them upright inside the box rather than laying them flat. This will prevent strain on the walls of the box which can cause tearing or damage whilst in transit.
